Frequently Asked Questions About Bali Boat Charters, Yacht Rentals & Private Boat Hire

1. What types of private boats can I charter in Bali?

We offer a wide range of private boats in Bali to suit different group sizes, budgets and trip styles. Our fleet includes luxury yachts, catamarans, cruisers, private speed boats, party boats and fishing charter boats. Some boats are ideal for relaxed day cruises and sunset charters, while others are better suited to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan day trips, fishing charters, surf trips or larger private events. If you want to compare all available options, browse our full fleet of charter boats.

2. What’s better — a yacht, catamaran or speed boat in Bali?

The best boat depends on the type of day you want. Luxury yachts and cruisers are ideal for guests looking for comfort, style, more deck space and a premium private boat charter in Bali. Catamarans are a great choice for families, groups and celebrations because they offer excellent stability, spacious social areas and a smooth ride. Although they do take longer to get to the islands. Catamarans take about 2 hours each way to Nusa Lembongan and Penida. Private speed boats are often the best option if you want a faster and more flexible trip to places like Nusa Penida or Nusa Lembongan, especially for smaller groups, fishing charters or custom island-hopping routes. On a speed boat or cruiser it takes about 40 minutes to get to the islands.

3. Which boats are best for Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan day trips?

Many of our most popular boats are perfect for private day trips to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. Speed boats are often the best choice for fast crossings and flexible snorkeling itineraries, while larger yachts and catamarans can be ideal for groups wanting more comfort, space and a more relaxed day on the water. The best boat depends on your group size, budget, preferred level of comfort and whether you want a quick island trip, a luxury day cruise or a mix of snorkeling, sightseeing and relaxing. You can compare the best options on our Bali yacht rental and private boat hire page.

4. Which boats are best for snorkeling trips in Bali?

For private snorkeling trips in Bali, the best boats are usually the ones that can comfortably and efficiently reach the most popular snorkeling areas around Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. Many of our speed boats are excellent for snorkeling charters because they offer fast access to spots like Manta Point, Crystal Bay and Gamat Bay, while larger yachts and catamarans are great for guests who want a more spacious and luxurious day out. If your priority is comfort, families or a special occasion, a larger yacht or catamaran may be ideal. If your priority is speed, flexibility and value, a private speed boat is often the best fit. All of our boats come with good quality snorkeling gear.

5. Which boats are best for private fishing charters in Bali?

For private fishing charters in Bali, the best options are usually the boats that combine reliable performance, good deck space and the right setup for trolling, reef fishing or offshore trips. Boats like King Fish, Ikan Baru, Seaview and other fast, practical charter boats are popular choices for fishing because they are flexible, efficient and well suited to serious time on the water. Some larger boats can also work well for mixed fishing and cruising trips if your group wants more comfort. If you are planning a dedicated fishing trip, we can recommend the best options.

6. Which boats are best for birthdays, parties and special events?

For birthdays, celebrations, hens and bucks parties, weddings, corporate outings and sunset events, the best boats are usually our larger yachts, catamarans and purpose-suited party boats. These boats offer more deck space, better social areas, a more comfortable cruising experience and, in some cases, options for entertainment, catering and buffet service. Larger catamarans and event-style vessels are especially popular for groups who want a memorable private boat party in Bali with room to relax, celebrate and enjoy the atmosphere on the water.

7. Can I book a half-day private boat charter in Bali?

Yes, we offer half-day private boat charters, which are 4 hours long and they are a great option for guests who want a shorter trip without committing to a full day. Half-day charters are especially popular for coastal cruising, snorkeling, relaxed family outings and private fishing trips in the Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa area. In order to go to the islands of Nusa Lembongan and Penida, a full day booking is required.

8. Where do your private boat charters depart from?

All of our private boat charters depart from either Serangan Harbour or Tanjung Benoa, depending on the boat you choose and the itinerary planned for your day. These are our main departure points for trips to Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, the South Bali coastline, fishing grounds and other routes.

9. How many guests can your Bali private charter boats accommodate?

Our fleet includes private charter boats for a wide range of group sizes, from couples and small families through to large groups and special events. Our largest vessel can accommodate up to 250 guests. Some of our smaller speed boats are ideal for intimate trips and smaller groups, while larger catamarans, yachts and party boats can comfortably accommodate much bigger groups for celebrations, corporate outings and private events. Because every boat is different, the best option depends on your group size, destination and the type of experience you want. If you are unsure, we can recommend the most suitable boat for your numbers and budget.

10. What is included in a Bali yacht rental or private boat charter?

All of our private charters include hotel transfers, ice, mineral water, fresh fruit, juice, soft drinks and snacks. We also provide towels, good quality snorkeling gear and fishing equipment as standard on most charters, so you can enjoy the day without worrying about the basics. Some boats also include additional extras such as a floating mattress, SUP board or other comfort and entertainment features depending on the vessel. Every boat is slightly different, so if there is a specific inclusion you need, we are always happy to confirm what is included before you book.

11. What payment methods do you accept to confirm a booking?

To confirm a booking, we require a 50% deposit. This deposit can be paid either by bank transfer or by PayPal. Please note that PayPal payments incur an additional 5% fee, but they can be paid conveniently by credit card through PayPal. The remaining balance is due prior to departure on the day and can be paid either in cash or by credit card at the harbour using our card machine. Credit card payments made at the harbour incur a 2% transaction fee.

12. Is a private boat charter in Bali safe for families and children?

Yes, many of our private boat charters are suitable for families and children, and family groups are a big part of what we do. The best boat for a family charter depends on the age of the children, the destination, sea conditions and how much space and comfort you want on board. Larger yachts and catamarans are often ideal for families because they offer more room to move around and a more stable ride. All of our boats come with life jackets, 2 way radio and most have safety raft and state of the art safety equipment.

13. How far in advance should I book a Bali boat charter?

We always recommend booking as early as possible, especially during peak travel periods, school holidays and popular dates for birthdays, group events and island day trips. Some of our most popular boats and premium yachts can book out well in advance. If you have a specific boat, date or itinerary in mind, earlier booking gives you the best chance of securing the right option. Last-minute bookings are sometimes possible, but availability can be limited.

14. What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my charter?

Safety always comes first. We take our advice from the local harbour master. If they deem conditions to be unsafe, we will try to reschedule the trip and if this is not possible for whatever reason, we offer a full refund of the deposit. Unfortunately rain does not constitute unsafe conditions and in rainy but safe conditions the trip is expected to go ahead. Please refer to our full terms and conditions.
